That was me a couple of years ago. I was night shift bedside. I hated it. I switched to clinic management and quickly realized I hated going to meetings and sending petty emails all day. Then I got recruited for my current job and now I’m the happiest Ive ever been! You just have to find the right job for you, and you’ll love both just like I do now! Don’t be afraid to try something new! You got this!❤️

Man thank you for putting this into words. I hit my 3 years in August and I used to really love being a nurse AND my floor, but things have just been so rough. The patients get sicker every year, staffing becomes more scarce, the demand of the job increases every year, and it sucks bc you can actively feel yourself fall out of love with something you used to really enjoy

It’s taken me 3 different jobs in 8 years to find a job that makes me love being a nurse again. Although I think we all get burnt out super easily. I switched to outpatient specialty clinic and it’s something different everyday

Go to outpatient PACU it’s like the best part of being a nurse I have enjoyed it so much. I get to teach uninterrupted, I get to talk to family in a quiet environment, no call no holidays no weekends

My patients often ask if I love my job, ive been working at my same hospital same "floor" (cardiac/neuro medsurg) for 7 almost 8 years. I say I most love it since ive been here forever. And I do. Its kinda like when people will say I love my spouse but I dont like them right now. I love my job, but I dont like it sometimes
