@sober_mom_vibes85: The hardest part of my recovery has been admitting that I was the one doing the damage. I hurt people, I lied, I made excuses, and I kept making promises I couldn't keep. There were things I did that I'm still embarrassed to talk about. I spent so much time hating the person I had become that I honestly didn't know if I could ever find my way back. But here's what I don't think gets talked about enough. I had to become the person who saved me. Nobody could do it for me. I had to look at the mess I made, take responsibility, and fight my way out of it. I'm not proud of everything I've done, but I'm proud that I didn't give up on myself. Don’t feel like you’re all alone in what you’ve been through! I myself have been and done the same thing that you have! No joke. The truest words or statement that you made was that I had to save myself as well . Everyone would say “just stop “ and guess what… at the time I couldn’t stop, but when I hit rock bottom it was time to put my boots back on and take a step forward. I took little steps little victories everyday. And when you’re at the bottom you truly find out who your true friends are and that was tough as well but at least I kept and keep stepping!
