Now, they’ve actually been doing these orders for years. They just haven’t really shared them online before. So I went back over, and they took me into their kitchen for the first time. I knew how much food they put out, but I didn’t realize how much work went into making it. I watched them making the macaroni and cheese, cornbread dressing, chicken & dumplings, mashed potatoes… pretty much everything going out on that buffet was being made from scratch right there in the kitchen. They were even using whole turkey legs to season their black-eyed peas and some of the other dishes. And when you see all of that happening behind the scenes, you get a different appreciation for what ends up on your plate. Which is why I wanted you to see this before we talked about the Thanksgiving pans. For Thanksgiving, they’ve got boneless sliced ham, cornbread dressing, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, collards, turnips, black-eyed peas, green beans, and cabbage. And for dessert, banana pudding, sweet potato pie, red velvet, chocolate & lemon cake. They’re offering third pans that serve about four to eight people & half pans serve about twelve to sixteen. And if you’re feeding a bigger family, full pans are available by request only. Now, these pans aren’t handed to you frozen. They’ll be freshly prepared and hot when you pick them up. Orders start today, November first & everything must be ordered and paid for before three p.m. on Monday, November 23rd & picked up before 3PM on Wednesday, November twenty-fifth. You can call Country Road Buffet or stop by the restaurant on Airport Thruway to place your order. Just make sure it’s placed & paid for before that Monday deadline.
