The brother of former Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has been arrested after Honolulu police accused him of trying to entice children from a hotel pool to his room. According to investigators, Batarti Gabbard, who also uses the name Bhakti, was arrested and charged with second-degree custodial interference following an incident that allegedly occurred on July 12 at a Waikīkī hotel. Police say Gabbard approached multiple children, including a 9-year-old boy, and allegedly offered them gum and money in an attempt to persuade them to come back to his hotel room. Investigators said he also asked the children for their names and wrote the information in a notebook. The children refused, and a woman who witnessed the interaction later reported it to authorities. Police have described the case as a “stranger danger” investigation. In a public statement, Gabbard’s parents, Hawaii State Sen. Mike Gabbard and his wife, Carol, said their son had a history of mental illness but had remained stable for years until recently. They believe his behavior changed after using marijuana, saying he became homeless, gave away his belongings, and began exhibiting delusional behavior, including claiming to be a rock star and using the names Batarti and “Jim Morrison Jr.” The family said a relative brought him to Queen’s Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation on the day of his arrest. According to them, he told hospital staff toxicology testing would reveal cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana in his system before he was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold. Court records also show Gabbard’s wife sought a protective order, alleging he was experiencing a psychotic episode and expressing concern for her safety. She stated he had previously been diagnosed with bipolar disorder with psychotic features and narcissistic traits and had resisted repeated efforts by family members to get psychiatric treatment. A judge ultimately denied the request. The child luring allegations come just days after Gabbard was separately arrested on a theft charge. He has pleaded not guilty in that case and is scheduled to appear in court next month. Proceedings in the custodial interference case are still pending.#fyp #viral

Follow for more content: The Trump administration has finalized a major change to how the Endangered Species Act is enforced, reversing decades of federal policy that protected the habitats of threatened and endangered wildlife. Under the new rule, habitat destruction alone will no longer automatically qualify as “harm” under the law. Administration officials say the change restores the original intent of the 1973 law, reduces regulatory burdens, and makes it easier for industries such as energy, agriculture, mining, and real estate to move forward with projects while still prohibiting actions that directly injure or kill protected species. Supporters argue the previous interpretation gave the federal government too much authority and created unnecessary obstacles for businesses and landowners. Environmental organizations strongly oppose the decision, warning that habitat loss is the leading cause of species decline and extinction. Several groups have already announced plans to challenge the rule in court, arguing it weakens one of the nation’s most important wildlife protections. POLL: Do you support limiting federal habitat protections if it makes development projects easier? 🟢 Yes, development should have fewer restrictions. 🔴 No, protecting wildlife habitats should remain the priority. 🟡 Unsure / Need more information.
