I don’t have a uterus but taking progesterone. It helps me sleep. My dr recommended it with my estrogen and testosterone.

My physician never stopped prescribing HRT to females and males. I read that report, it was CLEARLY flawed. BTW, they used progestins, NOT micronized progesterone.

In reading and discussing these studies, we need to differentiate between bioidentical progesterone versus progestins (like medroxyprogesterone which was used in the WHI and associated with the 29% increased risk of breast cancer). FORMULATION MATTERS. Menopausal hormone replacement studies are confusing because people group together all estrogens and confuses progesterone with various progestins (synthetic progesterone with different chemical structures). Just as we would not discuss all blood pressure medicines as if they were one medicine, we should not do that with hormone replacement medications.
