@mrbarricade: I've been bringing city planning to the public and specific area plans are where they see how communities shape the future. Your city has intentional specific area plans to redevelop different sides of town where they anticipate growth. Get involved in your city planning by commenting on the urban planning efforts your area is already doing. This is what I tell the public: city planning is not something that happens to you, it's something you can shape. Specific area plans are public. They go through comment periods. Cities want to hear from residents. This is how I frame civic engagement: your input matters. Plans that include community voice are better plans. Plans that don't are vulnerable to criticism. When you comment on a specific area plan, you're saying what you think should happen in your neighborhood. You're voting with your voice. This is how communities get the neighborhoods they want instead of the ones that happen to them. Specific area plans map out anticipated growth. They guide where and how redevelopment happens. They show you what your neighborhood could become. And you have a say in it. #UrbanPlanning #Transportation #PublicEngagement #Infrastructure #CivicEducation #CityPlanning #CommunityVoice #Advocacy
