@mark.st.jean2: Hello, I'm a wildlife photographer, nature enthusiast, and author from Nottingham, New Hampshire, and today I'm celebrating the publication of my first novel, Trials in Flight. Like so many of you, I've spent countless hours exploring and photographing the wildlife and natural landscapes of New England. Those experiences inspired me to write a story that brings readers into the world of a migrating flock of Canada geese. Trials in Flight follows Galen, a young Canada goose, and his flock as they encounter the challenges of migration, from changing weather and natural predators to the difficult choices that come with leadership, friendship, and survival. The story takes readers through real places across the Northeast, eventually arriving at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge on Plum Island, Massachusetts, a place many New England nature lovers know and appreciate. Although written with young readers in mind, I hope the story will appeal to anyone who has ever stopped to watch a flock overhead, wondered about the lives of the wildlife around us, or felt a connection to the natural world. I've also created the Trials in Flight Wildlife Literacy Project, offering free educational activities that encourage children and families to explore wildlife, photography, and conservation.
