@kinstretchwithraf: You’re holding the stretch. Are you holding your breath too? Something I’ve incorporated into my mobility sessions is paying more attention to breathing. When we hold stretches for at least two minutes, we’re also practising diaphragmatic breathing. It gives us an opportunity to slow down, feel what’s happening and pay attention to how we’re breathing in that position. We talk about breathing when we lift heavy. We talk about it when we sprint. It deserves attention during mobility work too. A lot of us spend hours at a desk, rushing between responsibilities, barely giving our breathing a thought. Then we get into a challenging stretch and carry that same habit into training. So while you’re there, check in with yourself. Are you holding your breath? Clenching your jaw? Can you ease into a steady, comfortable breathing rhythm? These are things I want people paying attention to in my courses. Understanding what you’re doing and how you’re responding is part of the practice. Next time you do your mobility work, bring your breathing into the session. #Kinstretch #MobilityTraining #DiaphragmaticBreathing #FunctionalRangeConditioning #LIFTCollective
