You can see he bobbles the ball, they’ve established the “control through the ground” rule for years. He gets both feet down, yes, but when the bobble happens, by rule, he didn’t complete the catch

Not really crazy, the ball got out of his control and he didn’t get it back until he was on his back entirely out of bounds. Control with zero feet and your entire body out of bonds is very much not a catch.
