@japdmedia26: Miami Beach, Florida, United States — An 11-year-old girl is facing a second-degree felony aggravated battery charge following an alleged attack on another student inside Nautilus Middle School. The incident happened on September 24, 2026, in the school's cafeteria and was captured on cellphone video. According to investigators, the accused student allegedly grabbed the other girl's hair and repeatedly struck her before school staff intervened approximately 25 seconds later. The victim reportedly suffered a concussion, bruises and scalp injuries. Her mother says she has struggled to return to normal activities since the incident. During a juvenile court hearing on October 29, a judge ordered the accused student to stay away from the victim, including through social media. The victim's mother believes the confrontation was connected to a disagreement involving a cheerleading group and alleges that the incident was planned. "This is a kid who is 11 years old. This is what upsets me," she said. "We need to stop violence in schools. Please help me stop the violence in schools. Our life has been turned upside down. I am hurt." However, the accused girl's mother claims her daughter had experienced bullying before the confrontation and says school officials failed to resolve the dispute. The victim's family has hired attorney Gina Raijman and is pursuing legal action against Miami-Dade County Public Schools. "She was pulled by the hair and thrown to the ground. This was a beat down," Raijman said. The school district maintains that staff had previously met with the students to de-escalate tensions. "When the situation occurred, school administration and Miami-Dade schools responded immediately," the district stated. "The matter was addressed in accordance with the code of student conduct and referred to law enforcement." The accused student has reportedly left Nautilus Middle School. She is scheduled to return to court on December 21. The criminal charge remains an allegation, and the case is ongoing. #MiamiBeachFlorida #NautilusMiddleSchool #GinaRaijman #MiamiDade #japd
