@everythingeverglades: Matilde is one of my favorite alligator moms as she is always there to protect her little ones. I had stopped to count them, a part of my volunteer role, and was a good distance from the babies and very far from mom. Even so, the babies started chirping as they will. Matilde calmly moved to their side, no muss, no fuss. Just making her presence known. Enough said. I finished my count, left them to enjoy the sunshine.
