‼️ Shaker sorter closer look ‼️ - Yesterday I shared a homemade sorter that I made and many of you commented such kind words which I greatly appreciate! Some of the comments were great questions about how it worked and what were the results - Well as requested here is some more information for everyone, hope it helps! - First off, the overall sorting I'm happy with for what I'm looking for which is typically smaller pieces. In this video I moved the LEGO pieces over in each bin to show a better view of the set up of the holes. However it's important to say tilting the whole unit to the opposite side for a second while running helps if you find the pieces are all headed to one side. This unclogs any build up. - As far as the vibration plate goes, it's something found online fairly easily in the $100 range. The cabinet is from IKEA as well as the matching plastic bins. When assembling the cabinet I didn't attach the top for easy access to dump LEGO parts. Yes, I did drill all those holes. No I would likely not do that again 😂 Too far into it I was told I should have heated different size metal rods and use them to make the holes. This is very likely a better idea, just would recommend doing it outdoors. It would have cut down on a bunch of sanding in my opinion. The hole sizes I used started at 1.5 inches or about 40mm's. The smallest ones are 3/8 or about 10mm's. I drilled different size smaller holes in the gaps in the bins with big holes to help sifting. - During operation I dump the LEGO parts in at speed 1 (it goes to 100) and then increase it up to 18. I've found when on carpet it dampens the vibration some and allows for better operation. One improvement I'II make is using solid straps instead of the bungees that came with the vibration plate. When it is on a solid floor it shakes, a lot 😝 - Lastly, I put a plexiglass door on the front and a panel on the back to keep it all together while shaking away. Any other questions feel free to ask. Once again, appreciate the interest and all of your kind words a ton! 😁 - - #LEGO #idea #design #legotiktok #fun
