my father came here at age 16 in the 30s with his family, but left his heart and soul in Cosenza. I was raised eagerly intently listening to his every reminiscing of his life in Italy and his many tales and stories of the land, the food culture, the people, the history. it's in my DNA, my memories, my life and my heart, forever

Only on occasion, whenever the family would all be together during holidays or maybe the old timers at the social club, but my father didn’t talk about Sicily often, it was rough for them back then, they had nothing.

My grandfathers family was sent to Libya by Mussolini to farm, while there he was captured by the Germans I have his prisoner picture but while hiding before he was captured he hid under his friends porch with the pigs, my dad and now my son are named after that friend Ezio.
