unfortunately everyone is looking at her situation through what we expect today. Back then women had absolutely zero choice, high ranking women MIGHT have had about a 2% choice but even then you were at the mercy of the men in your family. Many women were just bargaining chips and that was if you were lucky. If you had no worth or value it was quite literally whoever would take you off your family's hands, so they could be rid of you. I hate her situation, and I love Eloise she wouldve been a wonderful scholar in our time but she was born during a time where she had little to no rights 😭

I saw an interesting opinion by others and they said how in season 4 we really do start to notice a change in Eloise, especially with how she views marriage and love. After mentoring hyacinth for the season you can definitely how something in her has changed especially with how her siblings are slowly getting married one after another. Anyways I genuinely hope brownwell doesn’t mess her season up because hers is such an interesting season to explore in particular her growth from the sheltered Nobel lady from previous seasons
