@anna..papalia: All jokes aside, ⬇️ Use this script in your next job interview to answer “What are your salary expectations?” 😱Companies ask you this question because they want to underpay you. They are hoping that you give one number like, “I am hoping to make $70k” There is NO reason why a company should NOT tell you what the position pays and there is NO reason that they should make you tell them what you want to be paid BEFORE they tell you the range of the position. So don’t fall for it and play the same game by answering their question with a question or giving them a non-answer. 📌Use this script, Interviewer “What are your salary expectations?” You “ What is the position paying?” Interviewer “We really need to know what you want before we pass you on to the next round” You “Well, what’s the range? I am sure you have a pay range for this position.” STAND YOUR GROUND and DON’T PANIC 👉If they answer and give you a range, you can say “I am amenable to that range” or “That is the range I am looking for” 👉If they refuse to give you a range or tell you what they will pay you can say, “I’m very interested in this opportunity and I’d like to have this salary conversation after I’ve learned more about the role and the company.” If they threaten to not pass you on to the next round, great! You dodged a bullet. Trust me, you don’t want to work for a company that won’t in the least disclose their salary range. Good luck 🍀 #joboffernegotiations #salarynegotiation #jobinterview #howtoanswerinterviewquestions

💯 TURN THE TABLES. I always say, "Salary is only one piece of a holistic compensation package and not always the most important. Could you explain the benefits package the company has allocated for this position including salary, insurance, PTO, and any bonus structure or profit sharing I should take into account?" TRIPS THEM UP EVERY TIME AND THEY SPILL. ❤️

Literally had this happen to me this past Friday. They asked me my expectations but hadn’t posted the range. So I asked the range and they said that not at the part of offer/negotiations yet. And yet the recruiter kept telling me she didn’t know the scope of the role like a hiring leader. I’m thinking 🚩.

How do you counter if the recruiter says “your background/experience doesn’t warrant that amount” in regard to your request. That to me recently and she sounded practically OFFENDED that I dared to ask for $25/hr (context: range was 20.97-29.97, previous role was close to me asking amount)

I’ve always just asked if they have a budget for the role and they’ve always told me.

Honestly enough. If you don’t k ow enough about the position to know the value you bring to the position. You shouldn’t be interviewing. I’ve always gotten more than the salary range. And that because I know not only my value, but the positions value.

When they asked me I simply answered depending on what the job qualifications is (not sure if it was right to answer that way) then she told me to just give a number and I dud. Anyways I didn’t get the job and the interviewer seemed bored while interviewing me plus is there an interview that last 10 minutes only or less? it seems like they have already made a decision beforehand
