It’s because in Mexico día de Los muertos is traditional to eat at your loved one’s grave. We visit with them eat and play mariachi or Banda music, it’s like a visit with our ancestors. 🙏

Do people not know that cemeteries are set up the way they are so people could come out and use the green space as a park while they visit with the dead? Also it’s dis de Los muertos, if I came back from the dead for one day a year I’d be more than happy to see a paletero there waiting for me.

My grandpa was a paletero, he would sell them all day long until one night he was run over multiple times until he was unrecognizable and died. My dad had a habit of buying lots of paletas and buying thier whole inventory of the day. I didn't know until later on, I really thought my dad just liked them a lot 😭. The day before my dad died, I kept hearing bells ringing and my sister had a dream on my dad death,that my dad and grandpa where little kids running around and playing as they eat paletas. My grandma heard kids playing outside when she woke up and found it weird why would someone drop off their kids to our house when my dad just died 😭
