@mr.paidsocial: A purchase count is important, but it doesn't describe every part of an ad set's performance. This archived June–July 2024 walkthrough shows how I used secondary metrics in one account to understand why an ad set looked different from the others. Here's the review process: 1. Start with the business outcome. In this example that is a purchase. Keep that outcome in view even when you look at earlier steps in the funnel. 2. Work backward. Review initiated checkouts, adds to cart, click-through rate and CPM. Each tells you something different; a cheap click is not the same thing as a profitable sale. 3. Compare against relevant results from your own account. The dollar amounts and percentages on screen are examples from this account, not thresholds every business should use. 4. Check how much evidence you have. Spend, impression volume and the time someone needs to make a purchase all affect how much you can infer from a short run. 5. Look for a pattern and investigate it. If several stages differ from your account baseline, that gives you more context for a decision than looking at a single counter in isolation. It still doesn't guarantee what the next visitor will do. The checklist is included here in the description. You can find the source metrics in your own Ads Manager reporting columns; no download or comment-to-DM resource is needed.
