@cherstravels: what ACTUALLY happens when you declare an absence at uoft? i had questions too, so here’s my attempt at making it less confusing!!!!🫶 • absence declaration creates an official record of your absence to support a request for academic consideration on assignments, participation & tests • it’s for situations like illness, injury, mental health issues or emergencies • you can use it once per term, for up to 7 consecutive calendar days • no additional supporting documentation is required for that declaration • it does NOT automatically give you an extension or excuse missed work… you still need to follow your syllabus and contact your prof • it doesn’t cover missed final exams, which require a separate process save this for when you need it, and check your faculty’s rule + course syllabus📚 #uoft #universityoftoronto #torontostudents #universitylife #canadianstudents uoft absence declaration, university of toronto, ACORN absence declaration tool, assignment extensions, missed midterms, academic consideration, uoft student tips
