a few bartenders at a job I quit got tipped in a store gift card. they took the gift card opened a penny tab and tipped themselves the money that was on the card. they got fired because that gift card was supposed to be used on food to generate the stores income.

A manager forged my signature on a write up because I wouldn’t sleep with him, and then later on I missed a shift due to odd scheduling and me misreading a schedule (I tend to mix numbers when I read them). I traded shifts with another coworker later on because my mom was in the hospital three hours away, I worked his shift before I left, he no-call-no-showed for mine. Bc it was originally mine and not his, I got the write up for it and was terminated before I could clock in. A year later that store got shut down for health code violations though.

I was fired because I ask for time off to go see my father that was on his deathbed two states away. When I got out of the meeting after they told me I was fired. I got the phone call he has passed away. Lost my job and didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to him in person.

I got fired because some guy I’d never met before came up to me, declared himself my manager, and told me to go do something weird. Didn’t have a uniform on. Looked extremely disheveled and smelled awful. Turns out that was the general manager. He spit on me and fired me. Weird interaction overall.

I was fired because I was 15 min late due to a genuine medical condition I have that they were well aware of. I even told them I would be a little late because I was at the doctors and I had a note. They thought it was fake.

My boss had me PDF all his personal paperwork because he didn’t know how to use his own scanner at work. I let the rest of the office know about his divorce and how he owed the IRS $80k and he was trying to pin it on his ex wife to pay. He played like he was a pillar of the community and a good man but was just slimy. Best decision ever. Still friends with the ex too!

Back in 2022, has to miss 2.5 days due to none stop vomiting from my pregnancy. The .5 came from me vomiting on myself at work and needing to go home. Kept them updated the whole time. Went to urgent care the following day when I was unable to keep even water down, was really close to being dehydrated so they gave me some meds to stop the vomiting. thankfully the meds worked, called them before my shift to let them know & I’d be in. Came in to all my stuff packed and them telling me it wasn’t gonna work because my “problem” was only going to progress. My boss was a woman too.. she just couldn’t believe saltine crackers weren’t stopping my vomiting 🙄🙄🙄 since it worked for her. I had dr notes and everything.

the only time i’ve ever gotten fired was this past summer, i worked at a drs office as a secretary. when i went in for my interview, we discussed how i had no prior healthcare experience besides being a pharmacy tech. they told me that it would take me months to learn everything, but that they had hope that i could do it. not even a month later, they fired me because “i wasn’t learning fast enough”

I got fired for catching another employee stealing from the register. I called the boss and confronted the employee because I had been coming up short and they were taking my pay. They fired me because she had been there longer and they trusted her.

My social couldn't be found in the data base the job used but since I was only 16 and had no credit that's normal. Instead of using another one since there are many others or figuring out another way for me to prove who I was they just fired me. Had the same issue when I applied for apartments in college but they used multiple and found me eventually.

I took a reference call during my lunch break in the parking lot that my cubicle neighbor heard. He told the boss I was taking a job interview phone call and I got called into the office and was fired for not fully committing to my role

I got fired once cause the drunk 25 year old the company owner knew. Needed a job. So they put him as a boss over a bunch of us on a crew. Like split us off to be in his crew. And because I didn’t drink on the job with him? He and his lackeys sabotaged my work. That guy got into a drunk driving accident while at work like 2 weeks later. And one of those lackeys crashed a company truck outside my house into a powerline. 🧍🏻♂️yeah…. We worked on powerlines too btw. Company truck that crashed outside my house? Flipped it sideways. I sat outside and laughed and laughed with my neighbors about it.

I got fired back in August from a local sports bar for missing a meeting. a meeting that was only communicated once two weeks prior at 2am. at the time I normally had a three day weekend and the week leading up to the meeting my family was wanting to go camping the weekend of, so had literally anyone mentioned the meeting before hand I would've stayed home for it. I bring up the 2am mention because it literally was the only mention of it and I more than likely forgot because by the time I had seen the message because I was drinking that night, so the weekend I'm camping with my family, we came in one car and I wasn't about to leave my family stranded for a meeting that my co-workers say I missed nothing I didn't already know
