With just two days remaining until Election Day, here is where my 2026 gubernatorial projections currently stand. @unbiaspolitics2024: My goal is not to discourage or demotivate voters, but quite the opposite, I want to encourage everyone to get out and vote. Every state rated Lean (lighter shades of red or blue) is absolutely flippable for the opposing party, and even races rated Likely are not entirely out of reach. These projections are simply my assessment of where the gubernatorial races currently stand, not a definitive of what the results have to be. Ultimately, the power to change these outcomes rests with you, the voters. Make your voices heard and vote for the candidates and values you believe in. Now Lets deep dive into the analysis, I anticipate that several races that were not initially expected to be particularly competitive will tighten considerably as Election Day approaches. These include Oregon, where Tina Kotek faces Christine Drazan; Texas, where Greg Abbott faces Gina Hinojosa; Ohio, where Vivek Ramaswamy faces Amy Acton; Kansas, where Ty Masterson faces Cindy Holscher; and even Oklahoma, where Mike Mazzei faces Cyndi Munson. That being said, I do not believe any of these contests have narrowed enough to fall within the margin of an outright upset. The two most competitive gubernatorial contests this cycle are, in my estimation, Georgia and Nevada. In Nevada, incumbent Republican Governor Joe Lombardo has several advantages working in his favor, but I remain uncertain whether they will be sufficient to fend off Democratic challenger Aaron Ford. Georgia presents an equally fascinating contest. Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms appears to have a favorable electoral environment, particularly when considering the early-voting numbers, but the question remains whether that advantage will be enough to carry her across the finish line against Republican Rick Jackson. Despite some concerns surrounding Bottoms’ standing in Atlanta, I currently have Georgia at Tilt Democratic. Nevertheless, I consider this a genuine toss-up, and it would not surprise me to see either candidate emerge victorious. One of my less surprising, but nevertheless noteworthy, projections is Ohio, which I currently rate as Lean Democratic. I remain unconvinced that Vivek Ramaswamy has managed to establish a strong enough coalition among independent voters, or even consolidate support within his own party. Coupled with what I view as a poorly organized campaign and an ineffective advertising strategy, I question whether Ramaswamy has enough time remaining to turn things around. Amy Acton appears to be in a considerably stronger position heading into the final stretch, and I believe the fundamentals are increasingly working in her favor. #Election2026 #GovernorRace #ElectionForecast #PoliticalAnalysis #electionpredictions
