@browneyedgurl801: DEPUTIES SAY HE FIRED A GUN IN A HOTEL PARKING LOT BECAUSE HE COULDN'T FIND HIS PHONE Scott's take: In 31 years I've heard a lot of motives, but "I couldn't find my phone" is a first. Most people try calling it from another phone; deputies say he went with a 9mm, then admitted it while the shell casing sat right next to his car. A 24-year-old Brandon, Florida, man is facing a felony charge after deputies say he fired a gun in a Gainesville hotel parking lot because he was upset he couldn't find his phone. It happened Sunday morning at the Days Inn by Wyndham on Northwest 69th Terrace. Deputies say someone called to report that Desmond Horton was shooting a gun in the hotel parking lot, with shots also going toward a building across the street. When deputies got there, they say they found Horton walking out of his hotel room with his girlfriend. According to the arrest report, Horton admitted firing the gun and told deputies he did it because he was upset that he couldn't find his phone. Deputies say he also mentioned a small argument with his girlfriend, but insisted that was not the reason he fired. Deputies say they found a 9mm shell casing near Horton's car, and a witness's account matched the story he told them. Horton was arrested and charged with shooting into public or private buildings. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. #CrimeTalk #TrueCrime #Gainesville #AlachuaCounty #Florida
