@love.of.africans: The story of Kunta Kinte is more than the story of one African man. It represents a painful chapter in African history and the African diaspora, where people were separated from their homes, names, languages, cultures and identities. They did not only take people from Africa. Over generations, a system was created that taught many descendants of Africans to see their own heritage as something lesser. And that is the part we need to talk about. Because when a people are repeatedly told that their language, culture, appearance and history are inferior, eventually some begin to believe it. But our African identity did not disappear. It survived in our names, our music, our traditions, our stories and in the generations that came after us. Maybe reconnecting with Africa begins with remembering that there was never anything inferior about being African. 🌍🖤 #AfricanHistory #BlackHistory #AfricanIdentity
