Chérie in London 🦋 :
grandma always taught me that there are six things people notice when you first walk into a room. She taught me an acronym to remember them by: A.P.P.E.A.R.
A – Appearance: How you dress and present yourself. Dress how you want to be addressed.
P – Personal hygiene: Always take pride in your cleanliness, grooming and the little details.
P – Perfume: Never underestimate the power of a beautiful fragrance. A lovely scent can leave a lasting impression.
E – Energy: Your aura, confidence, body language and the way you carry yourself.
A – Attitude: Your manners, how you speak to people, your kindness and the way you make others feel.
R – Respect: The respect you show yourself and others. Your words, your behaviour and your ability to treat everyone with grace.
My grandma always reminded me that you don’t have to be the loudest person in the room, wear the most expensive clothes or demand attention to make an impression.
It’s about self-respect, self-awareness, elegance and taking pride in yourself.
But the biggest lesson she ever taught me was this:
People might forget what you wore, what perfume you had on or even what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel.
So, above everything else, always lead with kindness. Be respectful, be gracious and treat people well.
