I did my IB (international high school) final monograph on the relationship between the secret history and the virgin suicides in regards of the treatment of mysterious characters in them, and I always stop and listen to other people’s analysis on TSH. This really made me see a new detail on this story, thank u so much!

it is really interesting how Donna plays with the words!! In Richard's name, we have "rich" even tho he was the most poor of them!! Also the parallel in Henry's surname!!

I think that dinner scene between Richard and Bunny on the beginning of the book makes us despise Bunny and hope for his future. and in the end, personally when the group is on Bunny's mom house,I felt guilty for hoping for his future. amazing video as always.

Oh girl that’s my favorite book right there, I’ve been waiting for this moment!!! 😭 I really think it’s crazy how Donna Tartt uses Richard’s desperate aestheticism to hide the truth in plain sight. We’re really just watching a group of pretentious, morally hollow students unravel. The illusion works on the reader precisely because we want to believe in the myth as badly as Richard does, it’s like us ourselves become outsiders that want to fit in there as much as him

that’s why I think everyone BUT benny is horrible in that group. I think it is the perspective issue we only know benny’s worst and these might be not even true at all we only see from richards point. when you first read the book you instantly hate benny but its only bc of richard’s perspective and his desire to be accepted. and even if benny was that bad, for example being r8cist shouldn’t be equal to m&rd&& but from richard and their point of view they don’t do wrong at all which is such an amazing and unique concept
