idk i think giving them a free wall to draw on would be fine lowkey.. and you could even be fun and use chalkboard paint and turn the wall into a big chalkboard!!! all you would have to do is create boundaries with it, and make sure they know that is the only wall they can do that with. you just have to be willing to teach your kids lol idk 🤔 self expression and creativity are super important things to have your kids lean in to. my dad did the chalkboard paint for me and my siblings when we were younger and we never "destroyed the house" because of it because we knew there was only one spot we could draw on

Both of their answers are kinda extreme it’s best to meet in between. Let the child know they shouldn’t do it on walls at all but also redirect that energy to other materials they can draw with rather than just punishing

i grew up with a wall to draw on in the living room and it was the coolest thing ever! still grew up well and i’m not a destructive person fortunately

It would be an outlet for the child the channel their creativity in a designated area. I’m sure he meant that and to have boundaries with the wall. This is not an issue at all I’m just jobless rn that’s why I got something to say
