@lauren_thelabornurse: One thing that catches a lot of people off guard during a C-section is just how much their body can react to everything happening. Shaking uncontrollably, feeling nauseated, or even throwing up are all pretty common experiences during a cesarean birth. Between hormonal changes, anesthesia, medications, and the surgery itself, there are several reasons this can happen. The good news? There are ways your anesthesia team can help. As an L&D nurse, my biggest advice is to speak up as soon as you start feeling nauseated, dizzy, or unwell. You don't have to wait until you're actually throwing up to ask for help! Save this if you're preparing for a C-section, and follow for more realistic, evidence-based birth education. ๐ฉบ #laboranddelivery #birth #csection #csectiondelivery #csectionmom

I puked as they pulled my baby out of me. I want to have another c section, can they give me anti nausea meds to help prevent that? ๐

After baby was taken out of me I was dry heaving so much and suddenly got really hot with a throbbing headache. It was SO scary but the anesthesiologist was amazing.

I shook like hell both times. I was put out during 1st csection after 20+ hours. Was awake during 2nd one - after 27 hours. I had dry heaves during that one too. Shaking and puking. Fun times! That baby was 10.6 oz.

๐ญ My anesthesiologist just hooked me up because I had a major anxiety attack when he did the spinal(had traumatic spinal experience with my first c section), I let him know that I felt like I was going to throw up and he said sorry I dosed you up a little too good which idk if it calmed me down or something but it made the feeling of throwing up go away. He was such a great anesthesiologist and wish I had him with my first one ๐ญ

I got nauseous during my first c section but never threw up, I assume it was from the pressure of them pulling the baby out. The second c section the only symptom I had was my face itched so so bad

I got the shakes so bad after I got my epidural for my induction. I ended up having a c section hours later so I was ok again. But I am scared to get those awful shakes during the surgery next time around ๐ณ

"I'm going to throw up"
"No you won't. I gave you zofran"
"Ok well do you want me to turn left or right?"
Threw up about 15secs later. They gave me a bag for the later C-sections lol

I shook so badly but I had told them I was afraid of throwing up so I had two anti-nausea meds and that part was ok! In triage I got super lightheaded but they fixed that with meds super quick too

Yes! For me as soon as they put the epidural I started feeling the shakes and threw up like three times. I didnโt like how the epidural was making me feel at all.

My anesthesia team had someone by my head who said I'll probably get nauseous so focus on communicating my nausea level with her and I probably won't even feel the pressure I was warned about feeling down there.
