@humansofny: I'm so grateful to Laura for sharing her marathon story with me. Many people might not know that the marathon is shepherded by a nonprofit called @New York Road Runners, who are responsible for producing what might be the single most unifying event of the year. Not only is the marathon a great service to runners, it a great service to the New York community. Additionally the NYRR holds numerous year-long programs for youth and adults which grow the popularity of the sport globally. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the five-borough race, and I was so happy to partner with NYRR to share the stories of two special NYC marathon runners. Congratulations to Laura and everyone else who ran and finished their own marathon stories today, and a big thank you to New York Road Runners for their important work inspiring people globally to experience the power of running.
