My grandpa (firefighter) also said real Christmas trees catching on fire was his number one call during the holidays. We have never had a real tree as a result

Also get an emergency ladder for 2 story homes and learn how to properly use them. I had one in every room upstairs and welp it definitely helped when I had a house fire and I couldn’t get downstairs 😅 fun fact, it was caused by a dryer!

The only time my bedroom door is closed is if I have company staying at the house otherwise it's open because I need to hear what's going on in the rest of the house.
