@japdmedia26: Trump Praises Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens After She Endorses Republican Mike Rogers Detroit, Michigan — President Donald Trump has praised Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens after she broke with her party's Senate nominee, Abdul El-Sayed, and endorsed Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan's Senate race. Speaking about Stevens, Trump said, "I'd love her to join the Republican Party." He also described her as "very brave" and praised what he called her "great and almost unprecedented loyalty" to Michigan voters. Trump said he had never met Stevens but welcomed her decision to support Rogers, who is challenging El-Sayed in the closely watched Senate contest. Stevens previously competed against El-Sayed in the Democratic primary, which he won. Their relationship deteriorated over disagreements involving Israel, U.S. support for Israel and campaign messaging. Trump also directed a controversial remark at the Democratic nominee, declaring, "We don't want to have a jihadist." The statement has drawn attention because El-Sayed is Muslim, although his religious identity does not establish any connection to extremism. Stevens has said she remains a proud Democrat despite endorsing the Republican candidate. Her decision has triggered criticism from prominent Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, while Republican leaders have welcomed her endorsement. The political controversy comes just days before Michigan voters head to the polls. #Michigan #USA #DonaldTrump #HaleyStevens #japd
