You will 100% do a lot of “Mum I understand now” I also realised just how much my parents loved me once I had my own xx

Better to be open.. I’d rather my kid be at home fooling around safe than in some random field or park toilet 😭🤣🤣

I found open works well but it is very hard to bite your tongue when something they say worries you.

Oh, I said the same thing about my daughter when I was pregnant. I’m a very honest and open person to my daughter, I try and let her experience life but with the knowledge that she needs. She’s 8 years old and is my bestfriend but if I have to be a mother I am also a mother.

Unfortunately you can have all the best intentions for your kids and be open and discussing things which I completely did with my kids, but at the end of the day a lot of what kids do is influenced by their peers. Just pray they end up with good respectable and responsible friends.

I honestly believe that it comes down to the child in how you parent that child in the first place because not all children respond to the same things. ❤️

mum of two teen girls. we have a very open book open communication. I feel the stricter you are the more they'll act up. they have friends who's parents are insanely strict and they hide everything, I'd rather my girls be at home safe doing whatever then out hiding.

My daughter had her first Bub last year, I finally feel like she understands how much she is truly loved!! She’s a midwife in this area too - I’ve got my fingers crossed that she delivers your baby!

my mum was the same. didn't want the door closed. I was in a really good relationship that lasted over 4years. I now have a 15year old daughter. She has high standards but I think if she was to have a boyfriend I would trust her judgement. I think always having an open conversation is the key. just my opinion

You will understand when you become a mum. Becoming a mum makes you understand yours so much more.

I have a 16 year old daughter and her BF can only sleep in spare room. I allow him to stay, welcome him into our family, but that is one boundary and she respect it. As a Mum, I actually try and break A LOT of cycles to how my Mum was, even though I love her. Totally different generations

I had the mum that raised us the way you’re talking about. She’d rather that we fooled around at home over going to another place that could be unsafe

I had very chill parents growing up, cos they wearnt idiots , they knew we would find a way to do what ever anyway. I never had to hide anything from them , never had to lie. My friends with strict parents who tried to control everything ... soooo sneaky, always lying. A lot of their relationships with their parents looks VERY different to mine with my parents. Strict parents raise sneaky kids and you can't change my mind

When I was probably 14 or 15 my mum let me stay the night at my new boyfriends house. His mum let me stay in his bed! Nothing happened because I was painfully shy and I was actually really nervous about being there. And now that I have a 3 year old daughter of my own… ABSOLUTELY NOT!! I could never
