@salongenevia: Some of y'all are blow-FRYING hair instead of blow-DRYING it. Ladies, your hair should NOT smell burnt after a blowout. And if you're seeing clouds of smoke coming off your hair while someone is drying it, that's something worth questioning. After 20 years behind the chair, one of my biggest pet peeves is watching a blow dryer nozzle being shoved directly into the hair and round brush, blasting concentrated heat into one spot. The airflow should travel along the hair shaft, not be forced straight down into the brush with the nozzle pressed against it. And fellow hairstylists, you know that high-pitched sound the dryer makes when you press the nozzle directly into the brush? That's often a sign you're restricting the airflow. The hot air can't move freely, and all that concentrated heat can potentially overheat and damage the hair. You don't need to cook the hair to get it smooth and shiny. Proper airflow, controlled tension, and appropriate heat will give you a beautiful finish without unnecessary heat exposure. Now, a little visible vapor can sometimes be moisture or product evaporating, so it doesn't automatically mean the hair is burning. But a persistent burnt smell, excessive heat, or actual smoke should never be dismissed as normal. We're supposed to be styling hair, not roasting it. Clients, have you ever left a salon with your hair smelling burnt? And stylists, have you noticed this technique behind the chair? #HairstylistEducation #BlowDryTechnique #HealthyHair #ProfessionalHairstylist #SalonG

I agree but please don’t hate me when I say that ceramic brushes get very hot on the damp hair and can be very damaging too. Boar bristle with cork or wood handles tend to do better with the heat and add shine. Again, that’s just my opinion and my own observation!

I havent see any hairsdresser use a round brush in 5 years all i get is an extreme rough dry on high heat and no styling, and the last time i specifically asked for a blowout she said she didnt have her curling iron.

How do you feel about this brush? I like to wash my hair everyday but I've stopped bc of having to blow dry each time.

You’d be surprised how many people blow dry hair in an improper way. Unfortunately I was one of them up until a week ago when another stylist educated me!

A lady used a hair dryer on me they was so hot it burned my skull. And my hair has been permanently damaged. It’ll take me 5 years to get my hair back to the density it was

As soon as a see a young stylist ramping up a motor because that nozzle is touching that brush with the hair and suffocating it trying to “dry faster and smoother” and not holding it the air flow correctly and a bit off the brush I snap inside
