@extinctera.org: In 2014, commercial fossil hunters on a private ranch in northern Montana were digging for the bones of Gorgosaurus, a tyrannosaur. Instead, they hit the tail club of an armored dinosaur. The company contacted paleontologist David Evans, and in 2016 the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto acquired the skeleton. In 2017 Evans and Victoria Arbour named it Zuul crurivastator, after the monster in the 1984 film Ghostbusters. The second name means "destroyer of shins", for its tail club. It lived about 75 million years ago and was about 6 meters (20 feet) long. The skeleton kept most of its skin and armor in place across the back and sides. In 2022 the team reported that spikes near its hips, on both sides of the body, had been broken and then healed while it was alive. They think the blows came from another Zuul's tail club, and probably not from a predator like a tyrannosaur. People digging for a tyrannosaur found an armored dinosaur that had probably been fighting its own kind.
