You can argue that America isn't legally a Christian nation, but you can't deny that this country was built on Christian influences and traditions. Our Pledge of Allegiance says "one nation under God," our national motto is "In God We Trust," Christmas is a federal holiday, and presidents have traditionally taken their oaths on the Bible. Even the Declaration of Independence refers to our Creator and God-given rights. Christianity has been deeply woven into American history and culture since the beginning. There's a difference between saying we don't have an official national religion and pretending Christianity had nothing to do with the foundation of this country.

We were meant to be morally Christian — a people who believed every person has God-given dignity, that there's right and wrong above government, and that freedom only works if we can govern ourselves. Not church-run. Character-formed.

Well, to a degree but the constitution mentions God. God is on our currency. You don’t have to believe in God but we are founded and formed as a nation by Christian values.
