A 10-year-old boy in Wisconsin, who sh0t his mother in November 2022, has been charged as an adult with first degree reckless homicid3. Authorities said the shooting took place on 21 November 2022 in Milwaukee. According to the criminal complaint filed in the case, the boy’s mother has been identified as 44-year-old Quiana Mann. Mann was sh0t at close range & the bullet entered her right eye & exited the back of her head through her skull. A day after the sh00ting, the boy proceeded to buy an Oculus Virtual Reality Headset using his d3ad mother’s Amazon account. He later apologised for sh00ting his mother & then asked whether his package had arrived. Police said the boy had initially told authorities that he was twirling the g*n around his finger when it accidentally went off. But in subsequent interviews with the police the boy said that he had sh0t his mother. He said that “his mother would not allow him to have something from Amazon that he wanted to have”. He also admitted to retrieving the g*n because he was angry at her for waking him up at 6am when he usually sleeps until 6:30am. He said he got the keys to his mother’s g*n lockbox the night before. The boy “admitted to knowing that g*ns are dangerous & can k*ll people”. After sh00ting his mother, he went to the second floor & informed his 26-year-old sister & father who then called the police. According to the boy’s sister, he has had “rage issues” all of his life & “5 different imaginary people that talk to him”. Earlier he was given a “concerning diagnosis” by a therapist & his mother had placed cameras inside the home to watch him. 2 weeks before the shooting, “someone had unplugged these cameras”. The boy was charged with first-degree reckless homicid3 & could face a maximum of 60 years in prison if convicted. Milwaukee mayor Cavalier Johnson said: “Anytime there is a crime in the city, whether it’s by a 10-year-old or someone much older, it’s concerning.” At the time of the tragedy, they say he was in treatment for behavioral issues. "It was recommended by his treatment providers that cell phones, electronic devices be limited because of the violent games that he was he was playing," Reid said. "So she was literally following his treatment plan when she decided to take his electronic devices. And that is what upset him." Now the boy remains locked up in the juvenile detention center & it's exactly where his aunt and grandmother say he belongs. "We just don't know, like, what his mental state is and what he's capable of," his aunt said. "We have to sleep at night & he's a roamer. He likes to roam at night, so I don't know, I'd be a little scared," his grandmother said. The boy made a virtual court appearance on December 28th 2002. The judge kept his face hidden during the appearance. "The child or juvenile is present, but because the court has had previously ordered that his image or photo not be used in any manner, that is why I'm permitting that his will be off for today," Judge Kristela Cervera said. During the brief virtual hearing, the boy's father appeared on the Zoom call but made no comment. Prosecutors said they will have an amended complaint but didn't reveal details. The judge previously set the boy's bail at $50,000. His public defender said they would like to lower that amount. According to the criminal complaint, the boy was trying to scare his mom, but accidentally sh0t her in the face.
