@user3906210615097: Two-Time Olympian D*es at 34 Just Weeks After Marrying Her Longtime Partner Ciara Mageean was a two-time Olympian and one of Ireland’s most beloved athletes. But at just 34 years old, the middle-distance runner has tragically passed away. In 2024, she made history by winning gold at the European Athletics Championships. She was young, incredibly healthy, and at the top of her sport. Then, she started noticing unusual changes in her daily routine. She felt crampy and found herself needing the bathroom multiple times a morning. She tried to find a logical explanation, assuming she just had an irritable bowel. But her partner urged her to get it checked out by a doctor. In the summer of 2025, Ciara was diagnosed with cancer. Because of her age and peak physical fitness, she assumed doctors had caught it early. Instead, further testing revealed she had stage 4 bowel cancer that had already spread to her liver and lungs. Doctors gave her a prognosis of two to three years. She publicly promised to face the illness with the same f*ght she always brought to the track. On October 12, Ciara married her longtime partner in a private civil ceremony. They celebrated with friends shortly after. Just weeks later, on November 1, her family announced that she d*ed surrounded by her loved ones. Top political leaders in Ireland paid tribute to her extraordinary life. Her family closed their announcement with a traditional Irish blessing: "May her soul be at the right hand of God." Does her story encourage you to listen more closely to your body? #ciaramageean #olympics #athletics #ireland #cancerawareness
