Daniel Inouye was about to toss a grenade into a German machine gun nest. A German rifle grenade sheared off the arm he was about to throw with. He looked down at his own blown off arm on the ground, pulled the grenade out of blown off hand, and chucked it at the German machine gun nest. This was after being shot in stomach.
