The world tells men that love is about winning the girl, protecting their image, or proving their strength. Jesus paints a completely different picture. Biblical love has never been about power. It’s about sacrifice. When God entrusts a woman to a man in marriage, He isn’t handing over a reward for good behavior. To lay down the need to always be right. To choose forgiveness instead of keeping score. To serve when no one notices. To love when emotions feel difficult. That’s what sacrificial love looks like. Real leadership in marriage isn’t about having the loudest voice in the room. It’s about carrying the heaviest burden with the greatest joy. It’s washing feet instead of demanding recognition. It’s creating an environment where your wife feels safe, cherished, heard, and deeply valued because your love reflects the love of Christ. The strongest husbands aren’t the ones who dominate. They’re the ones who kneel. And the beautiful thing is that when a husband loves like Christ, it changes the atmosphere of the entire home. A wife who knows she is deeply loved finds freedom to flourish. Children who grow up watching that kind of love see a living picture of the gospel before they can even explain it.
