@demzdeliver: 🚨 Texas just smashed its all-time midterm record for early voting, and the final numbers aren't even in yet. Early voting wrapped up Friday with Texans turning out in enormous numbers. Harris, Dallas, and Travis counties all set first-day records, and the state has a record 19 million registered voters. Turnout in the first week already topped the 2022 midterm pace, and by the end of early voting Texas was running well ahead of any recent midterm. Texas Democrats haven't won a statewide office since 1994, and they say this kind of energy is how that streak ends. In the first days of early voting, ballots from people who had voted in past Democratic primaries slightly outnumbered those from past Republican primary voters. Both parties have turned out, and Republicans still have millions of past primary voters who haven't cast ballots yet. But Democrats believe a motivated electorate, a competitive Senate race between James Talarico and Ken Paxton, and anger over gerrymandering and rising costs are bringing people to the polls who usually stay home. The early vote doesn't decide anything on its own. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, and polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you haven't voted, make your plan today. Bring a friend, check your polling place, and get in line. Sometimes the loudest message in politics is a line out the door. #politics #texas #voting #midterms #election
