@news.hunter.fast: Joyce DeWitt Recalls Her Final Night With John Ritter Weeks Before His Sudden D*ath in 2003 Joyce DeWitt is looking back on the last evening she spent with her Three’s Company costar John Ritter. DeWitt, 77, told Page Six that she and Ritter were both in New York City at the same time. This was just weeks before he D*ed at age 54 from a sudden aortic dissection on Sept. 11, 2003. “Not knowing that it would be the last time we would hang out together, it was extraordinarily special,” she said. DeWitt said they only spent the evening together because she found out through the paparazzi that he was in town. She also described how close the timing was. “If he had called one minute later, I would have been out walking to Lincoln Center on my way to a movie,” she said. “It’s like there was divine assistance in allowing us that time together.” The two shared a meal at an Italian restaurant with Jim Belushi. “We had such a good time,” DeWitt remembered. “It was dear, and it was precious.” DeWitt played Janet Wood and Ritter played Jack Tripper on the sitcom. Last month, she told PEOPLE that from the day they met, it felt like their bodies were “talking to each other.” She also said she hopes the show can still make people laugh. In her words, people still laughing almost 50 years later is “a mind-blowing experience.” What is your favorite Three’s Company memory? #joycedewitt #johnritter #tv #sitcom #tvnostalgia
