Mach tuck. It’s killed many Learjet pilots

You can hear the Male Pilot starting to recite The Lords Prayer, in the background, towards the end. He knew. So very sad

this story is unbearable hard. my heart aches. my son literally patrols up and down that rd " military trl rd" as a Sherrif. when i opened up my social feeds today I was terrified. hes always always there. I'm so grateful he was off today. but he'll be back to work and stationed here as hes been the last 3 yrs on Milatary trl rd. may those people rest in peace and prayers to thwor families 😢

So why doesn’t this happen all the time? What was really the unique element here?

Can we have heated wings, so the rough ice cannot hold on to the wings?

So deicing! Can someone explain why there would be ice on a plane visibility, with Radars? in Florida ? I’m ignorant to aviation but can someone help me make it make sense?

An interesting, plausible theory if not a bit premature.

Horizontal stab possibly missing in pre impact photo…

Z :
it's either mach tuck from icing or the horizontal stabilizer detached from the icing and turbulence

Your theory doesn’t account for the 350ft rapid jump. They experienced this when they entered the updraft at the thunderstorm core. Intense enough to stall and do physical damage

They are saying it iced over and that's why it began to nose dive... I'm no scientist but icing over above florida? bad enough to not regain enough control for a controlled crash?
who tf was on that plane? 👀

The way the other pilot was praying he knew this and there was no way of getting out of it. Rip

So so heartbreaking. This departed from ABIA which I fly out of regularly and crashed near to my parents. A route I routinely take. My prayers for their families. I cannot imagine the terror. 💔🥺🙏🏻

You forgot to mention the precip they reported right before climbing. They definitely had runback icing and stalled trying to ascend.
