Tell me you have never played baseball without telling me. You absolutely can block the plate or be in the base path if you are positioning to catch the ball. However, you CAN NOT lower your shoulder and truck the catcher without even attempting to slide or avoid contact. Ump made 100% correct call, out and ejected.
