Newly released jailhouse phone calls have led to allegations that a South Carolina sheriff is showing favouritism towards a woman accused of drunkenly kill*ng a bride on her wedding day in April. Jamie Lee Komoroski, 25, accused of crashing into newlyweds Samantha Miller & Aric Hutchison as they rode in a golf cart following their nuptials, says in the phone calls that she's 'really happy' because Charleston County Sheriff Kristin Graziano is 'trying to help [her] out.' The calls were released as part of a lawsuit brought by local media in South Carolina. They also reveal a lack of remorse on the part of the suspect, who is being held without bond after being ruled a flight risk. Komoroski says in the video that Graziano arranged for her parents to come for a visit, despite protocol in the jail system only allowing for lawyers to visit inmates with all other visitation being done remotely. She goes on to complain about the food in prison but says that all things considered, she has been treated well. The horrific crash occurred in Folly Beach, South Carolina, on April 28th. 2 days after the crash, during a call with her parents she cried: 'Oh my God. I just can't believe this happened to me. … Why me? … I'm going to be here for years & years & years & years.' 'I can't believe this is my life… my whole life is going to be over,' she added. Newly released calls show Komoroski speaking to her boyfriend & saying that she expects to be released thanks to help from the sheriff. 'The deputy sheriff, like whatever, the head person of Charleston County, I met with her today & she's trying to help me out,' the 25-year-old says. 'She's like, 'I don't want you in here, you should be with your family, like, blah, blah, blah, so that's like really good... So I can hopefully be home sooner.' 'That's good,' her boyfriend replies. Komoroski also calls the sheriff 'really nice.' In a series of statements to various media outlets that the Charleston County Sheriff's Office denied that Komoroski was being subjected to any kind of a special treatment & that it was routine for the sheriff to visit with inmates. The office said that Graziano & the suspect met twice, 1 of those meetings is described as 'brief.' The suspect faces charges of reckless vehicular homicide & 3 counts of driving under the influence causing d3ath or great bodily injury. Komoroski appeared in court by video, as the South Carolina circuit denied her bond appeal. Circuit Judge Michael Nettles requested that both parties work to expedite the trial, which is scheduled for March 2024. If the case is not heard by then, Komoroski can be released on $150,000 bond & be placed on house arrest with electronic monitoring. Attorneys for Komoroski were requesting a $100,000 bond under the conditions that she attend a rehabilitation program, remain under her mother´s supervision & forgo access to a vehicle or alcohol. The defence argued that she did not pose a community danger or flight risk. Komoroski's blood alcohol content was 0.261, 3 times over the limit the night of April 28 & reportedly told responding officers in the wake of the crash: 'All of a sudden something hit me. I did nothing wrong.' Driving a rented Toyota Camry, Komoroski was driving at 65mph in a 25mph zone. Komoroski rear ended a golf cart carrying the bride & groom, causing it to be thrown 100 yards & flip over several times, kill*ng Hutchinson & seriously injuring her new husband. A wrongful death lawsuit that was filed on behalf of the groom, Aric Hutchinson, alleges that Komoroski was heavily intoxicated when she struck the back of their golf cart on Folly Beach at a high speed. An Amazon manager who masterminded an $10 million fraud that allowed her to buy a Lamborghini & a mansion, where she lived with her co-conspirator girlfriend has been jailed. Kayricka Wortham, 32, an operations manager at the e-commerce giant’s Atlanta warehouse, was sentenced to 16 years in a federal prison for orchestrating the plot involving 6 others that bilked the e-commerce giant out of $9.4 million. She used the stolen money to fund an extravagant lifestyle for herself & her 37-year-old lover Brittany Hudson. The couple bought luxury cars as well as a $1 million home in Smyrna, Ga. Wortham, who worked at the Amazon facility from about August 2020 to March 2022, was charged with wire fraud last September and pleaded guilty in November. Wortham, who represented herself in court, was also ordered to pay $9.5 million in restitution to Amazon & faces 3 years of supervised release after she serves her long stint. Hudson, who owned a business contracted by Amazon to deliver packages, helped Wortham submit fake invoices to Amazon that were worth millions of dollars. Before Wortham was sentenced, she and Hudson were free on bail & worked with a franchising company to try to open a hookah bar, Cru Lounge, in Midtown Atlanta. The couple allegedly sent forged court documents signed by a federal judge & stamped with a fake seal of Northern District of Georgia court indicating that the charges had been dismissed. Hudson also allegedly emailed the franchising company false bank documents that inflated the balances in her accounts. A Los Angeles jury has found former
A Los Angeles jury has found former "That '70s Show" actor Danny Masterson guilty of 2 counts of forcible rap3 in a retrial of a case involving 3 women. The third count against Jane Doe 3 has been declared a mistrial. Masterson, 47, pleaded not guilty to 3 counts of felony rap3 following accusations by 3 different women, including a former girlfriend. The alleged attacks took place between 2001 & 2003. He faces up to 30 years to life in prison. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 4. Masterson was deemed a potential flight risk & was remanded into custody following the verdict. He walked out of the courthouse in handcuffs. The first trial ended in a mistrial in November 2022, with the jury deadlocked & unable to reach a verdict. The 3 alleged victims were members of the Church of Scientology, as is Masterson. All 3 women said they were initially hesitant to speak to law enforcement because they said church teachings discouraged reporting to police. The women eventually left the church. One woman claimed the actor shoved a pillow into her face in 2003 while rap*ng her. Another woman, Jane Doe 3, who was dating Masterson at the time, claimed he rap3d her in 2001 while she was asleep. She & Jane Doe 2 are also involved in a related civil case against Masterson & the Church of Scientology. In opening statements of the new trial in late April, prosecutors said the evidence will show that the women were also drugg3d -- a detail not mentioned directly during the first trial but which the judge allowed in the retrial. They also introduced a fourth woman who claimed Masterson drugged & rap3d her in 2000. #truecrimetiktok #crimetok #crimetiktok #crimetoks #truecrime #criminalcase #crimecases #crimetiktoker #crimejunkie #crimetiktokers #crimestory #fromtvshow
