@base2finaldesigns: N722BD the same aircraft in the terrible crash today. (This was 5 months ago) I’m unsure if it’s the same pilots. However doesn’t seem like these pilots are on their A game. What’s your thoughts and opinions? #aviation #n722BD #atc #emergency #avgeek
If this is the same Learjet that crashed. There had to have been something wrong with the plane itself.

Jake :
The Learjet experienced Mach tuck. These planes are susceptible to this when the plane goes too fast and some pilots push too close to the limit. The planes wings are sleek and the icing which also makes the plane heavier did not help the case. When the plane starts to go above the speed of which the plane can handle, the wings feel it first. This moves the centre of pressure to the back of the wings (which also pitches the nose down) creating sonic booms which then create turbulent air which that turbulent air makes the elevators at the tail ineffective. With the nose pitched down the plane speeds up and there’s no going back.

Nothing to do with the plane being previously damaged but it does show the pilots willingness to push the plane past its abilities. Turbulence and icing have to be taken seriously.

Why are these planes even allowed to fly if they can't handle 'precipitation'

The controller is telling them it's not moderate in what they were experiencing. Why did they refer to it as moderate?

Considering they keep climbing they’ve likely damaged the aircraft due to going over the aircraft’s limits..

I read somewhere that not all pilots report severe turbulence due to paperwork. Is that true? 🥲
