@abc7la: Families gathered today at Pan Pacific Park in the Fairfax district to close out Halloween weekend with a good old smash and bash. It was the 4th annual Great Pumpkin Bash. The goal was to smash and compost the pumpkins, rather than sending them to landfills. Families also enjoyed free fall activities, carnival games and more. They also learned about composting and took home free compost kitchen pails.
