@blaze_production: BREAKING UPDATE: Nine Dead After Learjet Plunges Into Florida Roadway, Leaving Massive Crater and Scattered Aircraft Debris A devastating plane crash in Palm Beach County, Florida, has claimed the lives of all nine people aboard a private jet after the aircraft plunged toward the ground at an extraordinary rate before slamming into the roadway and erupting into a massive fireball. The crash happened Sunday, November 1, 2026, at approximately 12:50 p.m. near Military Trail and 10th Avenue North in the Greenacres area of Palm Beach County. The aircraft was identified as a Bombardier Learjet 60. U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed that all nine people aboard were killed. A massive crater left behind One of the most striking details emerging from the crash is the enormous crater left at the impact site. Videos circulating online show what appears to be a large hole in the roadway, with sections of damaged pavement and debris surrounding the impact area. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis visited the scene and described the impact as catastrophic, comparing the aircraft's descent to a missile coming down. Although some videos make it appear as if the airplane completely disappeared, officials say debris was scattered across a significant distance. The aircraft was destroyed in the impact and resulting fire, leaving little recognizable structure in some views of the crash site. What happened during the final moments? Newly reported air traffic control communications are providing investigators with important information about the aircraft's final moments. According to reporting by Reuters, the pilot initially reported dealing with icing conditions, precipitation and moderate turbulence. The crew was reportedly searching for smoother flying conditions and requesting a higher altitude. The situation then deteriorated rapidly. The pilot declared an emergency and reported that the aircraft was descending at approximately 10,000 feet per minute. Moments later, the reported descent rate increased to approximately 20,000 feet per minute. One of the final transmissions included the chilling words: "We're going to crash into the ground." The final reported cockpit transmission was: "We're out of time." Flight-tracking information from Flightradar24 indicated that the aircraft's descent rate eventually exceeded 32,000 feet per minute. Where was the plane headed? According to the FAA, the Learjet departed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was traveling to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. The aircraft crashed near a residential community in Palm Beach County, several miles from Mar-a-Lago. Hundreds of residents affected The disaster also created a major emergency for people living near the crash site. Palm Beach County officials said approximately 600 residents from a nearby mobile-home community would need to be relocated while investigators secured the area. Military Trail was shut down between 10th Avenue North and Purdy Lane/Alameda Drive as emergency crews and federal investigators worked at the scene. Officials said there were no immediate reports of additional fatalities or injuries among people on the ground. Federal investigation underway The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration. Investigators will examine the aircraft wreckage, flight information, weather conditions, cockpit communications and other evidence. Although icing and turbulence were reported before the crash, investigators have not established the official cause. The identities of all nine victims have not yet been fully released in the reporting available at this time. Questions remain about the final seconds How does a private jet go from cruising at approximately 35,000 feet to striking the ground in such a short period of time? Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the nine people who lost their lives. #Florida #BreakingNews #PlaneCrash #PalmBeachCounty #fyp
