Mike McDonald has created offensive scheme that is not tailored to the abilities which the offensive line has. The offensive line is made up of mostly rookies, McDonald’s schemes are too complexed for these rookies. None of the receivers with the exception of McConkie are dependable. Justin Herbert isn’t getting the time he needs to throw, not to mention what is probably all the checkoff she has to make on receivers, but he does need to throw the ball higher than the defensive lineman’s reach & not hit the defensive players in the numbers with interceptions. Mike McDonald needs to create offensive schemes that are within the abilities of his current offensive team’s, abilities. Bill Belichick was a genius at doing this, he didn’t force it. He took what talent he had to work with and created schemes which they performed their best in. Mike McDonald has created this major downfall of Justin Herbert, by not utilizing an offensive playbook, which fits the rookies/young players, current abilities.
