DOCUMENTS - MOST IMPORTANT ✅ ID / Passport + copy ✅ Clinic card / Antenatal card — THE green/white book! 📗 ✅ Marriage certificate? No need — just ID 👩‍🍼 2. FOR MAMA For Labour: 👚 1x Old big nightie / T-shirt you don't mind getting dirty 🧦 Warm socks — labour makes feet cold 💧 Water bottle + energy sweets / Juice 🫁 Lip balm — your lips will be dry! 📱 Phone + charger + power bank After Delivery (2-3 days): 👚 2x Front-open nighties / gowns (easy for breastfeeding) 🩲 4x Big cotton panties — not G-string! 🩹 1 pack Maternity pads — NOT normal pads, mama needs HEAVY flow ones 🧴 Toiletries: Toothbrush, soap, roll-on, face cloth 🩴 Slippers + towel (dark colour) 👙 2x Nursing bra / comfortable bra + breast pads 👶 3. FOR BABY - Don't overpack, public hospitals have small lockers! 🧷Nappies (newborn) 👕 3x Vests + 3x Babygrows / Onesies — 0-3 months 🧶 2x Receiving blankets / wraps — very important! 🧢 Beanie + socks + mittens 🧼 Baby wipes 👨‍👩‍👧 4. FOR SUPPORT PERSON / DAD 🪑 Small money for food / taxi 📱 Car seat! SAPS now checks! Baby cannot go home on taxi without car seat! 🚗💺 ❌ LEAVE AT HOME! 🚫 Too many bags — theft is real at hospitals! 🚫 Jewellery, lots of cash, expensive phones 🚫 White linen — blood stains! Nurse PRO TIPS: 1️⃣ Pack in 2 small bags: One for labour room, one for ward. 2️⃣ Put DOCUMENTS in Ziploc on top — nurses ask for it first! 3️⃣ Wash baby clothes before with Sunlight, no Stay-soft 4️⃣ Public hospital?
