I’ve been watching TNG for days. Truly truly heartbroken. There’s been a lot this year, only a couple that really reached my core but those that did really wrecked me. It wasn’t until I saw Marina’s video that I realized that he was truly gone. She was totally exhausted, barely keeping herself together to form sentences. I was going to hike on Saturday anyway, but now I went a few miles for him and crossed a prayer stone from the 16th century, where I lit a candle for him. Rest easy, mon capitaine.

He recorded all of Shakespeare’s sonnets and you can actually get them. I hadn’t realized it. So now I’m going to go find them. Just to listen to him!!! ❤️

I had such a soft deep soul loss but SO SO SO much gratitude that we had him for so long. he read Shakespear's sonnets in 2020 one at a time, and those moments were a crucial soul glue for me in that time. He has always supported arts and artists his whole life and will continue to do so. We were in the same space- above the grass as he was 🥰🥰🥰

You’re not alone. What is grief, but love persevering? Man I hope he knew how many people that didn’t know him personally loved him as if they did. Honestly, I’m not over it yet either. I haven’t been affected by a celebrity death like this ever. I can’t rationalize it, but I also know I don’t have to. A lot of papers surfaced around Covid lockdown when people started watching a lot of comfort shows about how, when you watch a show like Star Trek as much as I have, and ‘spend time’ with fictional characters a lot, your brain makes the same physical connections that it does for people you actually know IRL. And lord knows I’ve spent time with that entire cast daily for nearly 40 years, including during very formative (young) periods of my life. He shaped who I am with his performances, the charities he supported, the values and morals he embodied, and the behaviors he modeled, as both Picard and Sir Patrick. I loved him, however that was shaped, and “he mattered. He mattered to *me*.” Rest well Sir Patrick, and thank you for leaving so much behind for us to remember how you lived. Take care. ✌

We say so often “we will not see their like again” and this time I think it’s really true. Such an incredible actor, advocate for the arts, advocate for victims of domestic violence and human rights. We will not see his like again.
