My heart is broken… I expected a sad ending, but I was absolutely not prepared for such a tragedy. Almost his entire family was gone. He went through so much, made so many sacrifices to win the heart of the woman he loved, only to die in the war without even getting the chance to reunite with his wife and son. What an injustice! But I have to admit that this is an absolutely magnificent series. The actors portrayed their characters exceptionally well. The costumes, the scenery, the cinematography… everything was simply outstanding. I genuinely cried when I watched the ending, especially thinking about everything this character had been through and the family he would never get the chance to see again. At 43 years old, here I am crying over a TV series as if I had lost someone close to me! That is how powerful the actors' performances were. Every single one of them deserves the highest recognition for their incredible acting. This series was heartbreaking, captivating, emotional, and unforgettable. It made me laugh, hope, worry, and eventually cry. What a masterpiece!
