@islarosepotkins: Replying to @Tanya Garbuz I share my breastfeeding journey because I believe every mother deserves to feel supported in how she chooses to feed her child. I share it to help other mothers feel less alone, to normalise something that should never have been made controversial in the first place, and to educate those whose opinions are rooted in societal stigma rather than science. Breastfeeding beyond 12 months isn't weird, inappropriate or selfish. It's biologically normal, supported by global health recommendations and a personal choice between mother and child. If sharing my journey makes even one mother feel more confident feeding her toddler without shame or judgement, then it's worth every ignorant comment. Because the more we normalise breastfeeding, the less the next generation of mothers will have to defend it. 🤍 #breastfeeding #breastfed #feedingtoddler #fedisbest #feedingjourney
It’s SO WEIRD, that people find it weird. I BF until 2 days ago as my daughter self weened. She’s 20 months ❤️

Literally that part about sexualization. Such a disappointing comment section of women literally ready to tear down other women about their parenting choices. That’s worse than any breast feeding could be. I’m absolutely proud AF to be able to be close to my goal of hitting the 2 year mark of breastfeeding.

“It’s for you at this point” LIKE SORRY 😅 what could POSSIBLY be for me? The hormones? Being fat and drained? My body isn’t my own? Being bitten and judged? I cannot with these idiots

My male coworker told me that his wife “wouldn’t be allowed” to breastfeed their kids longer than one year bc it would affect their sex life. He is disgusted by the fact that I still on occasion bf my 3yr old. One of my biggest reasons not to stop bf my kid is that coworker and people like him, i love that he hates it.

Still nursing my almost 15 month old son. I don’t even know where to begin with weaning, it’s his comfort 4x a day and I hate the idea of taking that away from him. Especially because it was such a journey to get here and I’m so proud of us making it to 15 months. Also they are still very much a baby at 14 m, absolutely nothing weird about it AT ALL.

The comments on your previous post is crazy! I can assure anyone I’m not breastfeeding my 20 month old for me, I could do with the sleep at this point 😂

No I was literally in disbelief reading those comments!!! People are INSANE. And how many of those comments were from women is even more sad 😔 I got told the other day by a random lady in Costa - while feeding my 10 month old - she was “too big” to feed now. Ridiculous and also untrue. You are amazing! Breastfeeding (if able to) is literally one of the biggest blessings in motherhood, please don’t let the comments get to you 🩷

People need to do the smallest bit of research! It’s not at all weird but completely normal and healthy! Our society is so backwards not only historically but even compared to others across the world. We also need to stop glorifying independence… why is independence the only goal we have for our children?

it's honestly because women's breasts are so sexualised.. the fact that when it's boys as well we get more hate? like why are you also sexualising a BABY EATING.

Because everyone talks about formula feeding judgement but no one ever talks about the breast feeding judgement ! It’s actually wild
